Australia market

Digital marketing agency for Australia brands.

Performance marketing for Australian DTC, SaaS, and local-service brands that want to stand out, not blend into AI-generated sameness. Meta, Google, TikTok, and Pinterest run by senior operators with deep experience in AU buyer behaviour, FX-aware margin maths, and APP compliance. Servicing Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.

    Who we are

A global team, deeply experienced with Australian brands

New Public Media is a global performance marketing and white-label development team. We are not an AU-only agency, we work with agencies and brands across Australia, the US, UK, Europe, and Asia, with a substantial concentration of accounts on AU DTC, SaaS, and local-service brands.

What that means in practice: we have pre-cleared policy escalation paths with Meta and Google reps who answer in AEST/AEDT, we model CAC against a moving AUD/USD spread, and we calibrate paid-media operations against the structural realities of the AU market, smaller TAM, tighter LTV ceilings, FX-exposed cost of goods.

Pricing for AU clients displays in Australian dollars automatically on the booking page. You see the number before the discovery call.

    The problem

Why Australian brands struggle to scale paid acquisition

Australian brands face structural disadvantages most US-built marketing playbooks never accounted for. The market is smaller (roughly the population of greater Los Angeles spread across a continent), CAC ceilings are tighter because LTV ceilings are tighter, and most of the major ad-platform operations centres run in US business hours, meaning policy issues, account suspensions, and ad reviews resolve overnight while you are asleep.

On top of that, AUD ad-spend buying power moves with the exchange rate. A 5% AUD swing against USD can wipe out a campaign's margin in a week. Most agencies do not budget for this and most US-built tracking stacks do not report it.

We built New Public Media to run paid acquisition with this asymmetry priced in. We pre-clear policy escalation paths with Meta and Google reps who actually answer in AEST. We model CAC against a moving AUD/USD spread. We do not pretend Australia is just a smaller US, it is structurally different.

    Platforms

What we run for Australian brands

AU platform mix tilts toward Meta and Google dominance with TikTok and Pinterest carrying disproportionate weight for specific categories. LinkedIn is meaningful for AU B2B but smaller than UK at the same revenue tier.

    • 01

      Meta (Facebook + Instagram)

Advantage+ shopping for AU ecommerce with location targeting calibrated to where actual fulfilment makes margin sense, AU east coast often has very different CAC patterns than WA and SA. Server-side CAPI from day one, mandatory for any AU brand serious about iOS attribution.

    • 02

      Google

Performance Max for AU retail with currency-aware feed configuration. Search is the highest-ROAS channel for AU professional and home services. Demand Gen is replacing standalone YouTube video action campaigns for AU B2B and SaaS.

    • 03

      TikTok

TikTok growth in AU is fastest in the 25–45 cohort for DTC. Spark Ads on AU creator content outperform studio-shot brand ads by 3–5x in our accounts. AU creator economics are still cheaper than US, we use this to test concepts before scaling to other markets.

    • 04

      Pinterest

Disproportionately effective in AU for home, beauty, wedding, and design categories. Conversions on Pinterest run 30–90 days ahead of purchase intent on other platforms, useful for considered-purchase ecommerce and a way to load the funnel cheaper than Meta retargeting allows.

      AUD margin and FX-aware reporting

We report CAC, CPA, and ROAS in AUD with a visible AUD/USD spread overlay so you can see when exchange-rate movement is eating margin separate from campaign performance. No other AU agency we have audited reports this clearly.

    Proof

What clients tell us after the first 30 days.

    • “We had three agencies before. None of them showed us our actual tracking gaps until New Public Media did the audit in week one.”
      Founder, DTC apparel brandUnited States
    • “Within 30 days our cost per lead came down by 41 percent. The weekly Loom is the only agency report I actually watch.”
Head of Growth, B2B SaaSUnited Kingdom
    • “They restructured our Meta account in week one and our ROAS stopped fluctuating. The reporting feels like having an in-house team.”

    Compliance

What AU compliance looks like in 2026

The Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act govern how brands collect, store, and use personal information. APP 7 (direct marketing) requires opt-out mechanisms on every marketing message and consent capture for any data use that goes beyond the original purpose.

The Spam Act 2003 requires express or inferred consent for every commercial electronic message and an unsubscribe link that works within 5 business days. ACMA enforcement has issued seven-figure penalties in the last 24 months for non-compliant marketing automation.

Restricted verticals (gambling, financial services, alcohol, supplements) carry additional ACMA, ASIC, or TGA scrutiny. We run campaigns in financial services and supplements regularly, the pattern is to clear creative through compliance up front and structure landing pages to meet substantiation requirements before the ads go live.

We ship server-side tracking and consent-aware first-party data capture into every AU engagement in week one. AU brands that wait to do this lose 40–60% of conversion signal once iOS, Safari, and CMP-driven cookie loss compound.

    FAQ

    Australia agency FAQ

Can you operate in our timezone?

Yes, we work across global timezones and can match your business hours. Our operating team is structured so standups, Slack response, and weekly Loom drops land inside your working day. We have run accounts on ET, PT, GMT/BST, CET, AEST/AEDT, IST, and SGT, pick the cadence on the kick-off call.

Can you work with smaller AU markets and budgets?

If your monthly ad spend is at least the equivalent of US$4K (around A$6K), yes. Below that the senior-operator retainer eats too much of the budget for the math to work. We will be honest about that on the audit call and point you toward platform features you can run in-house until spend justifies an operator.

How do you handle AUD margin maths and FX exposure?

We report CAC, CPA, and ROAS in AUD with an overlay that shows AUD/USD spread movement separately from campaign performance. That lets you distinguish between an FX problem and a campaign problem. We can also help structure budget cadence to dampen FX volatility for brands with USD-cost-of-goods exposure.

Do you have AU case studies?

Yes. We run paid acquisition for AU DTC ecommerce (Sydney and Melbourne based), AU professional services, AU SaaS, and AU local-service multi-location brands. Specifics under NDA on the audit call.

How much does cross-border ad operations cost AU brands?

More than most AU finance teams realise. Currency conversion fees on Meta and Google billing, US-billed agency retainers, and SaaS tooling all add 3–7% friction on AU ad budgets. We bill in AUD directly and use local tooling where it does not compromise quality, which removes most of that friction.
